Policy Exchange, a leading British think tank, published a paper containing policy recommendations to the UK government on how to decarbonise the residential heating sector. Richard Howitt and Zoe Bengherbi, the authors of the paper, believe that the goal of reducing the carbon intensity of the heating sector by 80% by 2050 can be reached more cost-effectively than how the government envisaged it in the UK Heat Strategy.
Goldcar, a company specialised in holiday car rental, has strengthened its Goldcar Blue project, aimed at contributing to the environment, sustainable mobility and reducing air and noise pollution, with the addition of new Autogas and hybrid cars to its eco-friendly fleet, which now exceeds 200 vehicles.In addition to providing customers with electric cars in Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona, Goldcar now extends its offering with new LPG-fuelled vehicles in other parts of Spain, Portugal and Italy, and plans to add more locations in the future.
Fraikin, one of the largest commercial vehicle fleet company in Europe providing fleet management and rental solutions, has teamed up with engine conversion specialist Alternatech to offer full service contract hire packages on bi-fuel LPG-petrol vans. The new fleet will be deployed in the United Kingdom. The company operates in Germany, Belgium, Spain, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Switzerland, Hungary, and Russia, in addition to the United Kingdom.
